Savannah Georgia ~ Part One

After dropping my mom off at the Atlanta airport to fly cross country to be with Dana and newborn baby Elle, my dad I headed to Savannah, Georgia for the Johnson and Johnson wedding.  Our good friend Heather (Johnson) is marrying Mike Johnson in their favorite town, Savannah, Georgia.

I walked down to the lobby for breakfast and spotted the Savannah Morning Newspaper. The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's DREAM HOME sticker caught my eye. I love when St. Jude awareness is promoted across the nation.

My dad and I stayed at The Marshall House Guest Hose in Historic Savannah.  It served as a hospital for wounded soldiers back in the day AND is said to have a few friendly ghosts.

When we entered our room we were greeted by these adorable gift bags FULL of awesome goodies!

A guide book, moon pie, fan, coca-cola and some Savannah souvenirs ~ definitely all so Savannah!

My dad I set out on a walking tour to take in some of the historic sights. (In between rain storms).

I LOVED all of the architecture.

The Juliette Low house, the founder of Girl Scouts, took me back to my Girl Scouts Day. I was a Brownie and then Girl Scout in First - Fifth Grade and my leader, Mrs. Dull helped to create so many memories for our troop!

I'm loving this time in Savannah. I'm looking forward to doing some more exploring tomorrow before Heather and Mike's wedding tomorrow night.

Atlanta Family Reunion Day 4 ~ World of Coca-Cola

My sister Janice was able to get us tickets to The World Of Coca-Cola through a rep that she works with.  Coca-Cola Classic (NEVER DIET) has always been my favorite.  A tall class with pellet ice in a Tervis Tumbler makes me a very happy girl.

The weather has been really nice this week.  This is welcomed as I had prepared myself for some good old fashion southern humidity.  We don't get along so well.  When I lived in Memphis I spent months on end in the indoors ONLY to avoid the heat.  I melt in the humidity.

On the way to our field trip, my sister in law Julie's car started acting up.  All six of us piled into the five seat Toyota Prius Rental Car.  I got the honor of making the trunk of the car my seat.  I layed down flat and didn't mind being a passenger in the trunk (that) much.

The boys, in true Caleb and Mason fashion, ran around the grass until we were ready to rock and roll.  I don't know where they get all of their enegy.  I am thankful that they are happy and healthy little boys.

The indoctrination started before guests even stepped foot in the lobby.  It was Coca-Cola everywhere!  I loved the tall artsy bottles.

With the Polar Bear

We listened intently to the history of Coca-Cola and had a good dose of marketing.

We got to watch the bottling process, which was pretty cool.

We watched a 3D movie (and the seats moved at random causing collective gasps) and then headed to look at some art.

Our tour ended with having to sample over 60 different varieties of beverages made by Coca-Cola.

The boys were in their element with all of the sugary goodness.  We got to take home a souvenir glass bottle of Coca-Cola and grabbed a few necessities at the gift shop as we exited.

I can now check that one off my list.  And long live Coca-Cola Classic!

Atlanta Family Reunion Day 3 ~ Part 2...Bike riding with Papa Oregon

How adorable are these boys?

Discussing what activity is next....

Climbing the ropes course (built by their dad) in the front yard.

... a little gymnastics
followed by some bike riding.  It was fun to capture all of it behind my camera lens.  (And a lot less tiring!)
Way to go Papa Oregon!

Caleb is a speed demon!
And Caleb has mastered the 2 wheeler
What a day!
