Brittnee's Last Few Days in So Cal

Brittnee flys home to Memphis tomorrow. It's been a fun filled 2 weeks! Tonight we went to the movies with my sister Janice to see The Last Song. It was, surprisingly, a good flick. Go Miley Cyrus!

But we couldn't leave for the movies without a few photos. This girl loves to pose!!!

We left bright and early Monday morning for LAX.

Despite getting there 2 hours early, Brittnee barely made her flight! Thankfully, I was able to walk her to the gate (she flew as an unaccompanied minor) and begged security to let us come forward as they were calling the final boarding call. (Note to self, LAX on a Monday morning is never a good option).

We didn't have time for tears... Britt had just enough time to hop on board!

Good bye, sweet girl! Hope your trip to Cali was everything that you hoped it would be! See ya soon!

I joined my parents to check out what all of the Avatar Buzz is about. I am typically not a huge fan of movies of this genre... but... I must say that they special effects and 3D experience were pretty impressive.

Movie Date

A Saturday Night Date Night with four under eight! Carly, Lauren, Brandon and Bailey and I headed to the theatre to see Monsters vs. Aliens. I have much respect for any parent who has kids aged 7, 6, 5 and 4! I only, "borrow," these sweetnesses. Full time? Now that would be a job!

Brandon and Carly are best friends and neighbors. In their seven year old minds they are going to, "Get married and live in Alaska and have five dogs." I love to watch them. Brandon is a gentleman and so courteous to Carly. Carly is in charge and is constantly threatening, "I'm going to kiss you!"

Case in point!

Poor Brandon, surrounded by all of these girls. But he loves it.

Check out the grip Carly has on Brandon! And Bailey and Lauren are best buds too. Well, when they want to be. When one isn't bossing the other one around. They will go to Kindergarten in the Fall together.

Sprite, Popcorn and Skittles too... And would you believe that nobody had to go to the bathroom? I was envisioning having to make a grand exit with all of them in tow to go to the restroom and then make another grand entrance.

Now when does that new Hannah Montana movie come out?

Two Great Flicks

After a series of not-so-good dvd's I watched 2 great ones in a row. Let me recommend: Death at a Funeral and Dan In Real Life....

Death at a Funeral is a 2oo7 black comedy film directed by Frank Oz and written by Dean Craig. Matthew Macfadyen, Rupert Graves, Alan Tudyk and Peter Dinklage star. The plot follows members of a dysfunctional family at the funeral of the deceased patriarch, each with his or her own anxieties. Problems at the funeral lead to attempts at solutions.

If you are a Steve Carell fan, you'll like this one. Dan in Real Life has a sentimental plot and is a feel good movie with a lot of humor. The soundtrack is awesome and creates a good move for the story line.

Anyone have any movie suggestions? I'm a movie bum with some time on my hands! :o)

May Movie Madness

I saw this movie this weekend. It's classic. Prepare to be entertained by the inspiring individuals of 'Young@Heart,' a New England senior citizens chorus that has delighted audiences worldwide with their covers of songs by everyone from The Clash to Coldplay. As Stephen Walker's documentary begins, the retirees, led by their strict musical director, are rehearsing their new show, struggling with a discordant Sonic Youth number and giving new meaning to James Brown's "I Feel Good." What ultimately emerges is a funny and unexpectedly moving testament to the simple things these seniors value: old friendships, new challenges and a little time in the spotlight. I HIGHLY recommend it!

This month, I also sawBaby Mama ~ HILLARIOUS! And Iron Man ~ Special Effects and a lot of Robert Downey Junior... great flic! And Forgetting Sarah Marshall ~ Crude humor, but I laughed out loud more than I care to admit!

I know, I know... shouldn't I be working on my thesis? Yes... but a girl's gotta take a break!
